Think of mom’s life as a story about a kid who has run a marathon and won’t stop until she is 100%. We can’t really change the nature of the world.
That’s kind of what mom means to me. When I’m running, something in me wants to keep going. Maybe its just the adrenaline, or the fact that I’m running alone at night. But whatever it is, I don’t want to stop. I want to keep going.
Well, in business, it has the same feeling. I know a lot of mothers who run with their kids to work, so I can relate. I have a friend who runs with her kids and they are always on time. There is something about a mom who continues to run that is so inspirational to me. It seems there is that something I can do when I run that makes me feel good.
It’s not just a matter of feeling good, it’s also about “doing good.” We are so often told to “just do good” that it’s hard to ignore the fact that we also have to “do good.” And as we’ve all read in some of the blogs over the years, “doing good” does not always mean “doing well”.
Now we’re not here to talk about mom meaning in business; rather we are here to talk about how we should feel when we are a mom. We should feel proud of ourselves for being a mom. We should feel proud of her and of her parenting. And we should feel a sense of accomplishment when we get to take care of our kids. We should also feel the sense of fulfillment that comes with giving our kids a great role model.
The feeling of accomplishment should be tied to the sense of fulfillment for her. Just as a parent should feel the sense of fulfillment when a child does well, we should feel the sense of fulfillment if our kids do well. If we feel fulfilled when our kids are doing well, we should feel fulfilled when our kids are doing well. If we feel fulfilled when our kids are doing well, we should also feel fulfilled when we are a mom.
It’s not a bad thing to take a step back to think about the reason for your child’s success and the reason for their success. This should help us to feel a little better about our own children and their success. And it should help us to feel a little more like moms, even if our kids are no longer babies. Of course, part of feeling fulfilled when a child is doing well is acknowledging that we are our kids’ parents.
As my daughter (and my wife) have come to understand, we are parents to children in one way: through our parenting. A mother is a parent to her children, a father is a parent to his children, and a grandmother is a parent to her grandchildren. And while we may not be a parent to every child, we can be a parent to our children.
So if you’re a business owner and you have some kid in your business, that’s you. If you have a little girl in your business, that’s you. If you have a little boy in your business, that’s you. If you have a little girl and a little boy in your business, that’s you. If you have a little girl in your business and a little boy in your business, that’s you.
The other day, we looked at the way you use your car for a while and realized that we are all the same. We all have the same basic needs for a car, and that includes, and probably extends to, the fact that our cars have to be clean, well-maintained, and in good working order. In the same way, we all have the same basic needs for family and friends.
