The love-hate relationship with my logo is a pretty complicated one. I love it, and I think it makes a big difference in the way people look at us. I also love that I can use it in a marketing campaign without it being too obvious. But at the same time, I know that it doesn’t really go over well when people point it out.
Personally, I think there are two kinds of logo designers, the designers who are just okay with it, and the designers who are just not okay with it. The only two logos which I have ever been a designer for are ones I designed myself. I hate the way logo design is traditionally used today, and it’s very difficult for any designer to get it right. I also hate the fact that there are no good logos anymore.
I think the truth is that, for the vast majority of us, the logo represents who we are. The name itself, the color itself, the pattern (something I would not do if I were to design a logo), the logo itself, how it’s supposed to look, the logo designer’s personality – all these things determine how logos are perceived.
Some people believe that the logo should be a physical object that we see, feel, and touch. For me it’s more about the visual. I want to feel a logo, I want to see the logo, the logo should be a physical object that I can touch and feel.
If you ask me, it’s one of the most beautiful logos I’ve ever seen. It’s simple, it’s uncluttered, and it’s very clean. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a logo design that, while it may not be the best I’ve ever seen, is still a logo design.
